Dear Members of the Combs Community,

The J.O. Combs Unified School District plans to implement the Global Connect School Communication System, to increase communication with parents and staff. Throughout the school year, you may receive personalized recorded telephone messages to keep you informed of school activities, important dates, events, etc. This unique communication tool will also be used in the event of an emergency situation. A message describing the event or providing specific instructions will be sent to families whose child(ren) attend a specific school or the message can be transmitted district-wide. In the event of an emergency, a message can be sent within a relatively short time period.

In order to utilize this communication tool most effectively, we are requesting that you ensure that your child’s priority contact phone numbers which include your home phone and cell phone contact information remain current throughout the school year. Please advise the attendance clerk at your child’s school when any of your primary contact information changes.
 
For general school information and emergency announcements, this system will call the home phone and the cell phone of the adult identified as the primary contact for each child enrolled in the district. Later this school year, we will include an attendance calling component to the Global Connect system that will immediately alert a parent when a child is not in school.

This dynamic tool is not intended to replace, but rather to enhance our current modes of communication. The Global Connect School Communication System is a positive reinforcement to our commitment to remain personally connected to parents through personal conferences, directed telephone contact, general school announcements, and other important or emergency school announcements.
