SUBSTITUTE TEACHER INFORMATION

Substitute Teachers earn $85.00 per day. A Substitute Certificate is obtained from the Arizona Department of Education with a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card and Bachelor’s Degree in any area. Long-term substitute teachers earn $110.00 per day starting on the 11th consecutive day of employment.

SUBSTITUTE HEALTH OFFICE ASSISTANTS

Substitute Assistants for school health offices earn $50.00 per day.

SUBSTITUTE SUPPORT PERSONNEL (Substitute Classroom Assistants)

Substitute Paraprofessionals, Instructional Assistants, Personal Care Attendants, and others substituting in support staff positions earn $50.00 per day ($25.00 for ½ day.) This is a great opportunity for High School Graduates thinking about education as a career. No special Training Required.

Fingerprint Clearance

You must possess a Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) for Arizona Certification. To begin the fingerprint process call DPS at 602-223-2279.

Volunteers, applicants and employees may be fingerprinted by appointment at the Combs District Office.

Certification

To obtain information on Arizona Certification, log on to the Arizona Department of Education web site at www.azed.gov and click on Certification. You will find downloadable forms and specific instructions.
