J.O. Combs Superintendent Announces Retirement

J.O. Combs Unified School District Superintendent Gayle A. Blanchard, Ed. D. announced her plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2018-19 school year.

"I have had the distinguished honor of leading this school district for the past eight years as superintendent and couldn’t be more proud of the advancements, growth and commitments that I have seen. I will leave knowing that each J.O. Combs employee will continue the great and important work we do each and every day in educating and caring for our students," said Dr. Blanchard.

Combs Performing Arts Center officially named!

At the April 11th Governing Board Meeting, the Combs Performing Arts Center (CPAC) was voted on and approved for the bond approved facility. Shelly Hargis, Governing Board President, shared, “I am excited for our students and our community to benefit from a fully functioning performing arts building. The CPAC will give our programs the venue to raise their talents to a new level. The new building will also give our San Tan Valley residents an opportunity to showcase their programs at home and not have to travel to neighboring districts.”

J.O. Combs Community Survey

After 34 years serving in public education, Dr. Blanchard will be retiring in June, 2019. The Governing Board is seeking staff and public input concerning the leadership qualities desired in the new leader for the district. Your input will assist the Governing Board as part of their selection process. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. The deadline for responding is October 29th at 12:00 noon.
