Update on Homecoming Incident

Good morning families,

At last night’s Homecoming Parade, a Simonton Elementary student sustained minor injuries following an incident with a parade float. Emergency personnel responded immediately and the child was transported for medical attention.

The student was discharged from the hospital with minor injuries and returned to school today.

The safety and well-being of our students is of utmost importance to us at Simonton Elementary and the entire J.O. Combs Unified School District. In the event that your student has questions or would like to speak with someone regarding the incident, a social worker is available on-site.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Principal Sue Paschal at (480) 987-5330 or myself at (480) 987-5300.

Sincerely,

Dr. Gregory A. Wyman
Superintendent
