Not sure about how your child is developing?
We are pleased to offer play-based screenings at no cost to determine if your child has a disability and may require special education services. A play-based screening allows up to five preschool age students to participate in a structured play-based environment to gather information about the child’s performance in the areas of cognition, communication, social-emotional/behavioral, adaptive skills, fine motor and gross motor.Schedule your screening by completing this form and return by email to preschoolchildfind@jocombs.org.

EYC (Children with Disabilities) | 3-5 Years Olds
The Educating Young Children (EYC) program is a great first learning opportunity for students ages 3-5 who are not yet in Kindergarten. The program supports the needs of the whole child both with disabilities that require special education and typically developing. Each classroom is led by a certified early childhood special education teacher, highly trained paraprofessionals with support from a Speech Language Pathologist/Assistant two days a week.
Children with disabilities that have an Individual Education Program (IEP) attend the program at no cost. For typical peers, the monthly tuition cost is $130.00 per month.

Kinder Prep | 4-5 Year Olds
Children learn through experience and discovery. Our goal in the J.O. Combs Kinder Prep program is to prepare children to enter kindergarten with a healthy self-concept and a positive attitude toward school and learning. Children who will turn four by December 31 of that school year are eligible for this class. The Kindergarten Prep program is exciting and unique in many ways. Your child will learn in a positive, child-oriented program with a hands-on active approach toward learning. Kinder Prep is taught by a certified teacher.These classrooms are licensed by the Department of Health Services and approved by the Department of Economic Security.Locations: Ellsworth Elementary School and Ranch Elementary SchoolDays: Monday - Friday: AM Session or Monday - Tuesday and Thursday - Friday: PM Session (Can add a full day of Young Coyotes on Wednesday to PM Session)Times: AM and PM Sessions Available with Option of Full Daycare -
Young Coyotes | 3-5 Year Olds
Our Young Coyotes program combines play and learning in a child-centered environment where exploration is encouraged. Children are provided opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, and academically through hands-on activities involving music, art, and dramatic play. Young Coyotes is taught by highly qualified lead teachers.
Young Coyotes is licensed by the Department of Health Services and approved by the Department of Economic Security. Children must be potty trained and be current on shots. Parents must provide a sack breakfast and/or lunch.Locations: Ellsworth Elementary School and Ranch Elementary SchoolDays: Monday - FridayTimes: AM, PM, and Full Day Options Available
