• Welcome to the Home of the Stallions

I am extremely honored to be serving as the principal of Kathryn Sue Simonton Elementary and appreciate the warm welcome from the staff, students, and families that I have had an opportunity to meet. I embrace this opportunity to work with such a dedicated and passionate staff, supportive parents and creative, energetic students. We are going to do great things together.

I thought I would share a little about my background that I don’t know if I have had the opportunity to share. I hold a Bachelor’s in both Psychology and Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. The past three years, I had an opportunity to serve as principal with a charter organization. Before that, I spent three years assisting in the opening of an academic preschool and serving as their director. Prior to the director position, I was an elementary principal with Mesa Public Schools for six years. I have also had the opportunity to teach in Las Vegas, Scottsdale, and Mesa with teaching experience in kindergarten, first, third and fifth grade.

I am a small town girl at heart who grew up in a historic town in southeast Kansas, Fort Scott. I have been married to Rich, an Arizona native, for almost eighteen years. We are proud parents of one son, Brogan, who is starting seventh grade this year in Chandler. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outside, cooking, and being involved in Brogan’s sports and activities!

Although I hope you have had a fantastic summer and are enjoying the last few days, I am excited for the students to arrive on campus and truly look forward to meeting and working with all of you. I believe collaboration between the school and home to be essential for student success. It is only through our combined efforts that the best school experience can be provided!  I have an open-door policy and trust that you will contact me with any questions and/or concerns. Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with Simonton Elementary and entrusting their learning to us!

    Sincerely,

    Sue Paschal
    Principal
